The single will also be available to download from iTunes from April 24th. Included with both formats of the single is a song called 'A Glorious Day' which was written with lyrics taken from the poem of the same name by Brendan Cleary.
Brendan Cleary is a poet from Brighton and the poem is taken from the collection 'Weightless' published by Tall-Lighthouse Press. Find out more about Brendan's work.
Emma’s debut release comes out on the 5th March as part of the highly anticipated ‘Ballads Of The Book’ compilation album which is being released by Chemikal Underground. The album is a unique collaboration between Scottish writers and musicians, producing 18 brand new pieces of music with lyrics being provided by such luminaries as Alasdair Gray, Ian Rankin and A L Kennedy.
Amongst the bands and musicians that have contributed are De Rosa, James Yorkston, Karine Polwart and Aereogramme. The track Emma recorded is entitled ‘Jesus On The Cross’ and was written using lyrics provided by Louise Welsh, author of ‘The Cutting Room’. |
