We have an album
At last the album is onow finally done. Again. We had a lot of songs
remixed and edited and now I think I can say it's done. I'm very very
pleased with it and can't wait to get it out. Trouble is I have no
fecking idea at this point when it will come out, but hopefully in the
not too distant future.
I was in London last week doing some photos. In the band we always used
to just hang about and every now and again remember that someone was
taking shots of us and try to stop larking about and look stern and
moody. Now it's just me of course and all I can do is try my best not
to feel as awkward as I normally do in front of a camera as there's
no-one sharing the red neck anymore. The best bit about last week was
that we attempted to do the shoot on the windiest day in London's
history (Thursday 18th Jan) and so outdoor shots were particularly
hilarious and produced some uncompromising hairstyles. If any of the
outdoor ones come out okay I'll be sure to stick them up on the site.
I also got to play Vaughan Oliver's exhibition at Kingston University
in London which was a great thing to do as I've been a fan of his work
for a very long time. He's the legendary art designer for 4ad and is
designing the cover for my album too so I'm like a kid in a sweet shop
just now with everything that's going on.
I've recently confirmed playing the annual Austin music festival South
By South West as part of the 4ad showcase so if anyone's planning to be
out there this year get to Emo's on the 14th March and I'll see you
there. I'll be putting together a full band for it so it should be
interesting. I've roped in Paul to play drums with me and Dave McGowan
to play bass. He plays currently with Isobel Campbell and Teenage
Fanclub but I'll nab him while i can. There's also a couple of New York shows in March which I'll post once they're confirmed.
I'm off to watch 'Lady Vengeance' now.
Cheers,
Emma
