Diary Entry - 20th April 2007

Debut single 'Adrenaline' out 21st May

At last... the debut single comes out on the 21st May. It is called 'Adrenaline' and is taken from the album, which is called 'Watch The Fireworks' out in September.

The single will also come out on iTunes next week I'm told (Tuesday 24th). I don't really know when to officially celebrate though. I still feel that something is only truly out when I can walk into a record shop and actually touch it. Not buy it of course. If I start having to buy my own records, particularly if I'm in disguise, then I'll be in trouble. No, I think I'll delay on the champagne until the 21st May.

We're playing with Camera Obscura tomorrow night at the ABC in Glasgow. We've never played a full band show before in Glasgow and I've never played at all on the ABC1 stage so I hope it to be a good one.

The Ballads of The Book live extravaganza at the Tramway as part of Triptych is up next on Sunday 29th April. Loads of things will be going on. There's a band stage (that we'll be on), an acoustic stage and also a room dedicated to writers giving readings. It's sure to be a great day and one that I am very proud of as it's a one off show allowing a great deal of the people who were involved in making the album 'Ballads Of The Book' (released on Chemikal Underground earlier this year) to be seen live in the one setting.

Artists playing include, Sons & Daughters, Idlewild, Norman Blake, King Creosote, Alasdair Roberts, Norman Blake, Karine Polwart... the list goes on. The equally impressive collection of writers appearing include Bill Duncan, Rodge Glass, Laura Hird and Alan Bisset.

If you're around, come down and check it all out. Even if you're not, cancel what you were going to do and come anyway. They might even get me to dj.

Cheers
